You will need:
- Download and print our pdf here (ideally print on card, but you can use standard paper and stick on to card)
- A medium cardboard box (around x size). We found one in my local eco shop
- Wooden chopsticks
- Extra paper or old material for your ‘stage curtains’ - we are using our packaging
- Suitable scissors
- If you want to add some colour to your stage, then some paint (you can use old paint samples if you have any) or acrylic pens have good coverage over the cardboard
- A craft knife (for cutting the stage)
- Glue gun/ or use double-sided sticky tape (for attaching the cut-outs to the chopsticks)
.
- When you have everything printed out. Attach the cutouts to the flat end of each chopstick
- An adult can use a glue gun for speed and durability. If not attach your artwork with some double-sided tape like we have

- Draw the outline of the front of the stage as shown on the image below. You will also need to draw a rectangle at the top of the box. This is where the stick puppets will enter when the stage is ready
- An adult can use a glue gun for speed and durability. If not attach your artwork with some double-sided tape

- We have used the gingham packaging paper to make the curtains for the stage
- Cut out the curtain shape you desire and tape into place from the inside of the stage
- Use some of the cut-outs and colourful pens to decorate your stage! Ours is all moons and stars- no surprises here :)

You're all set and your theatre is ready for its first play. Let the fun begin!
