As we close our Summer Farniente series, we spend a slow day by the sea with Alice — a creative, mother of three, and long-time friend of Organic Zoo. Captured on film, her photos carry the warmth of simple summers in the garden, childhood memories, and life on the coast.
1. Can you tell us a little about your family life by the sea?
We live on my childhood street in Leigh-on-Sea. Our cottage garden has been a labour of love for me and my mum, and it feels really special having the sea just on our doorstep.

2. How does film photography change the feeling of these scenes?
It feels more nostalgic — like the family photos from my own childhood, full of simple summer moments.
3. What does a typical summer morning look like for you?
We open the back door straight away and use the garden as another room. Remy explores, I make a coffee, and the older two wake up in their own time.
4. How do you embrace Summer Farniente with your little ones?
Lots of time outdoors — in the garden, at the beach, and even wild camping. No strict routines, just slow days together.

5. How does your creativity influence the way you style your children?
I buy less but better. Pops of colour, organic fabrics, and breathable pieces are always my go-to.
6. What’s one thing you can’t resist collecting?
Chairs, old paintings, and vintage frames — many of them end up in my shoots.

7. Where do you look for inspiration?
From colours in branding to old interiors books and vintage magazines. I love pulling ideas from the past and turning them into something new.
8. Do you have a favourite Organic Zoo memory?
Yes — my daughter’s first bunny top and Monty’s cottonfield sleepsuit that I kept for Remy. It’s so lovely seeing the pieces passed down.
